The
HPD Motorcycle Run Club
The HPD Motorcycle Run Club
was the brain child of Bob Fulton,
a Detective with the Hoboken Police Department. Bob has been
previously involved with other motorcycle runs over the years, but there
was never any run close to home.
In 2005, he got the idea to
organize a run to the Pocono Mountains & shared the idea with several
of his colleagues at work. Two of his co-workers, Pete
Zanin & Arbend
Drishti, liked the idea &
together, they set out to form the run.
The end result was a
motorcycle run with about 50 or so riders that took off from Hoboken &
had breakfast at a local Milford, PA restaurant that was known for it's
tremendous breakfast buffet. The excess money that was raised that
year was donated to a local charity.
Bob, Pete & Arbend
continued on this success, which has grown since then to include several
members & a number of planned runs throughout the year. Most recently
Arbend's brother, Ed Drishti,
joined the staff as well as Iraq War veteran Josh
Velez, who is our newest organizer
The HPD Motorcycle Run Club
was formed out of this idea so that the runs have an organizational
support structure. While we always welcome additional members, you
don't need to be a member to participate in any of our runs, just
register, agree to abide by our run & safety rules & enjoy the
ride. |
