THANK
YOU!
Back
in 2005, none of us who created this run would think that what
transpired this past Sunday was possible. What started out as a simple
fall foliage run has turned into one of the most popular
motorcycle events in the region. This year was especially
significant because of the reason that we came together...to
raise money for a worthy cause, and that cause was IRINA.
Because
of your support & your participation, we exceeded 100
motorcycles & more than 120 participants. Everyone I
spoke to praised everything about our run, from the trip to the
food, and there wasn't one complaint. I can't thank each
& every participant enough for the support that you have
shown us this year & your compliments help to ease my worry
about making this event enjoyable & fun.
But
I'm not the only one involved in this effort. Behind me
are dedicated people who believe in this cause & they worked
hard to help make Sunday's run possible, My sincerest thanks
also go:
To
Pete Zanin, Arbend & Eddie Drishti, Josh Velez, Dylan
Archilla & Anthony Olivera.....I definitely couldn't
have done it without you guys!
To the Uniform Day Crew, who helped with everything.
To Chief Anthony Falco of the Hoboken Police Department who's
support help make it possible.
To Richie Aviles of RM Promotions who went above & way
beyond the call of duty with his support.
To my good friend Tony Carbone, who got "volunteered"
& took on the task without a hitch.
To Nick, Katerina & the Babalis Family, who own the Malibu
Diner for their unwavering support.
To every one of my friends who I hit up for a sponsorship below
& did so without blinking an eye.
To Andy Filone of the Mount Haven Resort who let me basically
"take over" his restaurant.
To my "son" Josh & to Susan who bailed me
out....love you both.
To the Hoboken Parking Utility for their hard work in getting
Hudson Street clear for the run.
To Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari for his support & assistance
by providing our escort.
To my brothers & sisters of the Stevens Institute Campus
Police for their invaluable aid on Run Day.
To my "boys" Louie & Frankie for helping me with
the stuff I had no time to handle.
To Carl, who kept control of the bike parking on Hudson Street
on run day.
To Al Rivera who, despite personal obligations, made the run as
he had every year since the 1st run.
To Chipper Falco & the members of the Hoboken M/C who showed
up in force to support our cause.
To anyone who I might have left out cuz I'm old & forgetful,
but you know that I appreciate what you did for me.
and
To
Pablo for his support, understanding & dedication to his
wife Irina
To Mike, Patrick, Elena & Anastasia for their friendship
& support.
You
know, the white ribbon for the run was selected because it was Irina's
favorite color. It was ironic that we would find a white ribbon
with an angel on it to use as our run pin. Irina was a purely
kind human being who was loved by many. I am glad that she has
found her way back home and now is at rest in her native Russia.
Our good weather, beautiful fall color, large turnout & wonderful
day was in part I believe Irina's way of thanking us for the love
we've shown her & her family. As an angel in heaven, I think
she made sure that our run was perfect & it was.
For that
& for your support I give thanks to God, and hope that He Blesses
each & every one of you. I hope you enjoyed our run & I
hope you will join us again...until then, thank you & ride safe.
